Peruvian food suits the Japanese palate!

We changed planes at Santiago Airport and headed for Lima. I was already out of my shell in Rapa Nui and had no idea what was in Lima, where I was headed, or what I was going to see. We took a cab from Jorge Chavez International Airport to the hotel, but it was jammed. What made me laugh was that when merging onto a big road, all the cars were rushing into it before me. It was chaos. Our cab driver leaned over and slammed the hood of the other car hard, yelling something. But they never get out of the car and start fighting.

Then we arrived at the hotel and checked in. We took a short rest in the room and went to a restaurant right next to the hotel. The menu was in Spanish, so I didn’t understand it at all. I ordered by pointing at what I thought looked good. The mermaid ordered from the menu at random. They were all delicious! Peruvian food has a great affinity with Japanese people.

Overseas, forks and knives are provided from the start, but there are no spoons. So I learned to say “Two spoons, please” in Spanish. Dos cucharas, por favor. When I travel around the world, I am so busy playing and moving around that I don’t have time to look in the mirror. So I didn’t know how sunburned I was, and I was surprised when I saw the photo later.

What we learned from Mrs. English.

After that, we walked around the city. At this time, I was walking cautiously, putting my passport in my body bag instead of leaving it in my hotel room. Then, we were approached by a woman of about 60 years old coming from in front of us. The woman, who said she was from England, looked at us and said, “If you carry your bag so carefully on your chest, it will be obvious that you have valuables in your bag and it will be dangerous. She told us. Since then, when I go for a short stroll in town, I have a style of carrying the minimum amount of money in my right pocket and my phone in my left pocket. This is the safest way.

I have no more photos of this day in my folder, and I have no memory of the rest of the day.
