Around the world for the 1st time [Day 19] Cusco ⇒ La Paz, Bolivia ⇒ La Joya Andina International Airport
La Joya Andina International Airport
After breakfast at the hotel, we will take a cab to the airport. From there we will fly to La Paz. Since we are in Bolivia from Peru, we are not domestics. So we have to fill out an immigration card, which is still a hassle! And it is in Spanish!
When I arrived in La Paz, I felt down because of the bleak scenery outside the airport, and I was just sitting in a cafe in the airport, talking about how we should stop and go somewhere else, even though we were going to the Salar de Uyuni.
Check in to the hotel
Eventually, we decided that since we had come all this way, we would go for it, so we took a cab to the hotel. When we checked in and entered the room, we found a dirty bed that looked like the sheets had never been changed, and a shower room that was just a tattered shower room separated by a curtain. Hmmm, tough. Then I walked around the town, but it was so bleak that I didn’t feel like taking pictures, so I returned to the hotel. I was surprised to find Nissin Cup Noodles at a general store in town. I don’t know what it tasted like, though, since it was arranged for the local market. The only thing I had for dinner was the refill series cup noodles I brought from Japan. My first impression of La Paz was terrible….
