Around the World for the 1st time [Day 26] Lima ⇒ Los Angeles, USA
Los Angeles
I flew safely to Los Angeles today. Checked into the hotel and immediately went for a walk around the city. First, lunch.
Hollywood Walk of Fame
The Walk of Fame is a 10-minute walk from the hotel. But still, the footpath and the roadway are separated by a wire fence, so we couldn’t cross the road normally, and we wondered what was going on, but it was the Academy Awards. We weren’t aware of it at all, but we were lucky that it coincided with such a time of year!
I was cackling and taking photos at Michael Jackson’s place and the local TV station was showing the mermaid. While I was taking photos at the Dolby Theatre, I was approached by a hot local woman who asked me, “Can you take my report with my phone for a minute?” She asked me to start filming! ‘Now I’m in that Dolby Theatre. Behind me is the Oscar statue. The Oscars are about to start.” Well, the machine-gun tone of her speech was terrific.
The people around me were glued to the machine-gun report that kept talking without making any good mistakes. When she finished, there was a round of applause.
Consumer credit, perhaps. It’s a very flashy sign. Instead of sneaking in like in Japan, the users went in staunchly and as a matter of course.
