Around the world for the 1st time [Day 13] In Lima, we went our separate ways
Separated by mood today
We decided to go our separate ways today, depending on our moods. I walked from the hotel and strolled around. There is something dangerous about this town, so I shove the bare minimum of money into my pocket without a smartphone or digital camera. The shopping street was not open yet, and there were shutters or iron bars. The fact that the shutters are made of iron grating shows how unsafe it is.
Then, there was a foreign currency exchange. I thought that the atmosphere there was quite stuffy, but there were two security guards with rifles standing at the entrance.
After that, when I was sitting idle in the square, a young man approached me in English and asked, “Where are you from? What is your name? Do you like this city?” These were just silly questions. I thought it would be dangerous to ignore him, so I talked to him, but I didn’t want to bother him any further, so I went back to my hotel.
Mermaid outing
The mermaid was touring the city in a hopping bus with a couple she met along the way (her husband is a lawyer).
Boys dancing in the crosswalk while waiting at a traffic light
The mermaid told me that her souvenir story was “It was awesome!” She said that the two boys who danced in front of a line of cars waiting at a traffic light to earn tips were really cool. I love this kind of thing.

I think we went out on the town for the night, but it must not have been a big deal because I only have these pictures left. I have no memory or record of it.
