Around the World for the 1st time [Day 4] by subway to the Queen Sofia Art Center
Queen Sofia Center for the Arts
Mermaid loves Picasso. In order to see Picasso’s famous painting “Guernica”, we decided to take the subway to the Queen Sofia Art Center. To avoid being pickpocketed, I hang my backpack in front of me.
It is raining unfortunately, but I don’t particularly mind. We arrive at the Queen Sofia Art Center without difficulty, purchase tickets, and go inside.
Photography is allowed for most of the paintings on display, but Picasso’s “Guernica” was prohibited. But I did secretly take pictures of it. My mermaid, who loves Picasso, was so moved to see “Guernica” that she became very emotional. Guernica” was so popular that even local elementary school students came to see it and listened to the explanation enthusiastically.
For lunch, we had pasta at the onsite restaurant. It was delicious.
Walking around the city – Plaza Mayor and the statue of the bear and strawberry tree
From the Queen Sofia Art Center, we returned to near our hotel and strolled around the many stores. We stopped at the Plaza Mayor and the bear and strawberry tree statues from yesterday.
